Summer Jobs for Students at TRCA

Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is now hiring Lifeguards and Camp Counsellors for its 2022 summer season! These are great opportunities for young people thinking of a professional career in the environmental or education sector. A summer job with TRCA means competitive wages and benefits that include FREE access to all TRCA parks and discounts on activities across the GTA.

Dive into the summer job of a lifetime! TRCA is looking for qualified lifeguards to join our team at Albion Hills and Heart Lake Conservation Parks. In addition to the TRCA seasonal position benefits (see above), these positions offer: National Lifeguard certification (NLS) and CPR-C Certification will be provided with training, if needed, for successful candidates. Steady hours and competitive rates ranging from $17 to $23 per hour.

TRCA is hiring camp counsellors for day and overnight camps for the 2022 summer season! It’s a great opportunity to spend the summer outdoors while enjoying the benefits TRCA has to offer! TRCA camp counsellors gain valuable experience by networking with our skilled educators, as well as earning a competitive wage while getting access to TRCA parks and discounts on activities throughout the GTA.

For overnight camp counsellors, accommodation and meals are included at no cost as well as a competitive rate of $17.69 per hour.

Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Opportunities

There are many volunteer opportunities available to high school students through Habitat for Humanity. Students will receive a letter detailing their volunteer contribution as well.

  • Our build site at 485 Normandy in Oshawa is open to volunteers. Build sites in Brampton and Toronto West will be open to volunteers over the summer/fall of 2022
  • Deconstruction Team welcomes volunteers:
  • ReStores (12 Locations) are also grateful for volunteer support: To get started as a ReStore volunteer, you will first be prompted to complete a 1 hour virtual orientation to learn about the role, and you can register for this event on the Volunteer Hub website linked below. They are held every Tuesday at 10am and every Thursday at 3pm.
